Fort Myers Tip-Off Remains on as Planned

The impact of Hurricane Ian is significant throughout Southwest Florida and countless residents of Lee County are faced with challenges as the rebuilding effort gets underway. While the road to recovery is not going to be easy, the outpouring of support from all corners of the country has buoyed the belief that better days are ahead.
Today, many restaurants are taking reservations and shops are working hard to welcome customers. Soon, visitors from across the country will return to the area, longing for the Southwest Florida sun and eager to support the return of a vibrant area. It is with that indomitable spirit that we are committed to hosting our Fort Myers Tip-Off series of events.
After thoughtful conversations with city officials, hotel and venue partners and other stakeholders in Lee County, our slate of Tip-Off contests remain scheduled for Nov. 21-27 in Fort Myers, Fla., with Florida SouthWestern State College once again serving as our gracious hosts.
The hospitality and tourism industries are essential to Southwest Florida, and it is needed now more than ever. While Hurricane Ian has left its mark, make no mistake that the allure of Southwest Florida remains. We are committed to providing a first-class experience for 12 premier college basketball programs, their families, friends and fans. And while each school is competing against one another on the floor, all are cheering for the return of Fort Myers’ Islands, Beaches and Neighborhoods.
