Hoosiers #OwnTheFort, Defeat Princeton to Move to 2-0 in Fort Myers Games
Graduate student forward Mackenzie Holmes notched her 2,000th career point and senior guard Sara Scalia scored an IU career-high 28 points in a 72-63 win over Princeton in the finale of the 2023 Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off on Saturday.
The Hoosiers move to 2-0 in the event, having defeated Tennessee on Thursday evening.
Holmes became the second player to score 2,000 points in program history, as she put up 20 points. She has now scored 2,004 career points in her five seasons with the Hoosiers. The Gorham, Maine native also pulled down a team-high eight boards, four assists and a pair of blocks.
Scalia set a IU career-high 28 points in the win going 10-for-17 from the floor. The Stillwater, Minn. native has scored in double figures in all six games for IU this season. She also added seven rebounds and a team-high five assists in the effort.
